United Corporations Limited is a Canada-based closed-end investment company. The Company is an investment vehicle for long-term growth through investments in common equities. The objective of the Company is to earn an above-average rate of return, primarily through long-term capital appreciation and dividend income. The assets of the Company shall be invested in interest-bearing short-term securities pending the selection of equity investments. The Company's investment portfolio is actively managed by Comgest Asset Management International Limited (Comgest), Causeway Capital Management LLC (Causeway) and Neuberger Berman Canada ULC (Neuberger Berman Canada).

Objective

To provide its shareholders an above average rate of total return and long-term capital appreciation primarily through investment in equity-type securities issued by Canadian companies. From time to time, however, assets of the Corporation may be invested in interest bearing short-term securities pending the selection by the Corporation of suitable equity-type investments. From April first 2002 the fund is allowed for increased investment in non-Canadian capital markets.

Management & contract fees

Jarislowsky Fraser Ltd charges 0.15% p.a. of its managed share (quarterly), Pembroke Management 0.50% p.a. (quarterly), and Sanford C. Bernstein 0.34% p.a. (monthly). E-L Financial Corporation receives 0.05% p.a. of net assets for clerical, statistical and accounting services (monthly). Both agreements may be terminated by either party on 30 days’ notice.
