Pega Launches New AI Tool to Accelerate Lotus Notes Transformation

Notes to Blueprint helps enterprises quickly transform and retire outdated Lotus Notes applications

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2026-- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), The Enterprise Transformation Company™, today announced the availability of Notes to Blueprint™ to help organizations quickly transform outdated legacy Lotus Notes applications into more efficient automated processes in the cloud. Combined with the AI design power of Pega Blueprint™, Notes to Blueprint lets enterprises understand their Lotus Notes estates, retire their broken workflows, and reimagine them faster and more effectively.

An estimated 34,000 organizations worldwide still rely on aging Lotus Notes and Domino deployments for core processes like approvals, claims, escalations, and document management. This contributes to the estimated $370 million wasted annually per company maintaining technical debt – resulting in decreased employee productivity, poor customer experiences, and lost resources. Yet modernization remains elusive as most lack basic visibility into how their deeply embedded Notes installations actually work: documentation is rarely available, logic is scattered across LotusScripts and other components, and proprietary Notes Storage Facility (NSF) data structures make unwinding these decades-old environments a complex, time-consuming challenge.

Based on assets recently acquired from legacy transformation solution provider Adopteq, Notes to Blueprint with Pega Blueprint empowers enterprises with the fastest and most comprehensive platform to transform Lotus Notes applications into modern, cloud-native workflows. The solution is available both as an end-to-end modernization solution through Pega premier partner Capgemini on AWS Marketplace, as well as a standalone tool available on Pega Marketplace. Now enterprises can leverage AI to accelerate every step of their Lotus Notes modernization process, letting them:

  • Understand the full picture of their Lotus Notes estate: Notes to Blueprint securely analyzes Lotus Notes databases to generate a portfolio analysis – giving insight into the size, activity, complexity, and utility of their Lotus Notes applications. This lets enterprises uncover the full project scope, settling the stage for modernization.
  • Extract trapped data and processes: Notes to Blueprint then scans proprietary NSF databases to build a comprehensive analysis of application functionality – including data structures and uncovered automations scattered across LotusScripts, forms, and agents.
  • Reimagine collaboration experiences into automated workflows, fast: Import data and processes gleaned with Notes to Blueprint directly into Pega Blueprint, where design agents will reimagine previously scattered logic into fully orchestrated processes incorporating industry best practices, automations, and AI. Pega has partnered with Capgemini to simplify Lotus Notes transformation through a new comprehensive modernization solution available now on AWS Marketplace. The joint solution combines Notes to Blueprint and Pega Blueprint with Capgemini’s CAALM (AI-assisted Legacy Modernization) services and expertise – which includes data migration, validation, testing, and change management. This complete solution gives enterprises a holistic approach to transitioning off their Lotus Notes estates.

Notes to Blueprint is based on certain assets acquired earlier this month from Sweden-based Adopteq, a provider of enterprise legacy application transformation solutions. More specifically, Pega acquired InvestigatorPlus, which analyzes existing Lotus Notes installations, and MigratorPlus, which transfers legacy data from Lotus Notes onto more modern platforms. In addition, select Adopteq employees, including cofounders Viktor Jansson and Mats Jansson, will join Pega. Specific terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
