About the company

Pirate Gold Corp., formerly Sokoman Minerals Corp., is a discovery-oriented company with projects in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The Company's primary focus is its portfolio of gold projects: Moosehead along the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt. The Company is also active on its district-scale Fleur de Lys project in northwestern Newfoundland, which is targeting Dalradian-type orogenic gold mineralization similar to the Curraghinalt and Cavanacaw deposits in Northern Ireland, and Cononish in Scotland. The Company has entered into a strategic alliance with Benton Resources Inc. through three large-scale, joint-venture properties, including Grey River, Golden Hope, and Kepenkeck in Newfoundland. The Moosehead gold project consists of 98 claims totaling 2,450 hectares adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway in central Newfoundland. The Grey River gold project consists of 324 claims (8,100 hectares) centered on an ice-free harbor on the south coast of Newfoundland.
